Photo by Joe Johnston 08-17-15Wind down and kick off your weekend with some blues and jazzy tunes of the The Tipsy Gypsies, this Friday, July 22nd! THE premier summer concert series is presented by Sunset Honda and hosted by SLO Downtown Association and runs every Friday from June 10th through September 9th from 5 – 8 PM.

    The Tipsy Gypsies are a full electric group who play a lively repertoire of Blues, Jazz and Pop music from the 1910’s to the 2010’s. Vocalist Hilary Langdon, guitarist Forrestt Williams, violinist Allan Dick, bassist Brian Lanzone, drummer Daryl Vandruff and additional vocals provided by the talented Reese Galido make up the lineup of musicians who have been developing their organic style and honing musical skills for five years now.   Read More

  • Holiday Parade Theme Announced & Call for Poster Artist

    Santa_in_Parade_2014We know it’s the middle of summer, but we’re already planning for our 41st Annual Holiday Parade.  The San Luis Obispo Downtown Association’s Special Events Committee has selected this year’s theme to be “Dashing Through the SLO.” The highly anticipated community event is a Downtown SLO winter tradition and will be held on Friday, December 2nd at 7 PM.

    Presented by Wells Fargo and brought to you by the San Luis Obispo Downtown Association, our  Holiday parade is one of the largest parades on the Central Coast.   The San Luis Obispo Downtown Association is seeking an artist or graphic artist with fine art skills to produce the artwork for the annual Holiday poster.  Read More

    Father_Russell_BrownMission San Luis Obispo de Tolosa is one of the oldest establishments in the area we know as Downtown SLO, second only to our Chumash population and natural environment. I would be remiss to not have taken a chance to sit down with Father Russell Brown as a part of my interview series this year. Father Russ is known to many of our community members in many capacities and I wanted to take a chance to study his perspective on our community, the perspective of a pastor in the middle of an urban center. I was amazed to learn of his story and how he came to be the current leader of our Mission.

Old SLO Trolley

Trolley service is provided from both of the parking structures and at convenient locations within the Downtown core approximately every 15 minutes. The fare is 50 cents. Hours of operation are:

  • Thursdays - 5 PM to 9 PM - Year Round
  • Fridays - 5 PM to 9 PM - June-Labor Day
  • Saturday - 5 PM to 9 PM - April - October
