  • SLO Police Adds Second Downtown Bike Officer

dt_bike_officersOur Downtown will now have additional bike patrol to help keep our district safe.  The San Luis Obispo Police Department has added a second daytime bike officer dedicated to our district in order to provide coverage seven days a week in the Downtown area.  Officer Greg Benson (pictured left) joins current bike Officer Brent Inglehart (pictured right) as part of the San Luis Obispo Police Department’s continuing efforts to address and reduce problems of panhandling, public intoxication, and many other crimes that negatively impact Downtown San Luis Obispo.

SLOPD has been working on the implementation of this position, realizing the need for additional police services during the busy business hours Downtown. Now that staffing levels allow for the second officer, they are happy to be able to provide the extra attention needed for our neighborhood.
