- Welcome SLO Marathon + Half Athletes to Downtown
The 3rd Annual San Luis Obispo Marathon + Half will take place on Sunday, April 27, 2014. The “Small Town, Big Race” attracts thousands to Downtown SLO and the Central Coast. Athletes and supporters may be arriving as early as Thursday, April 24 for scheduled events prior to race day! You can welcome athletes and supporters into your business by hanging a “Welcome Athletes” poster in your storefront and offering special discounts to participants.
Volunteers will be coming by your business early next week to drop off the posters or you can pick one up at our SLO Downtown Association office (1108 Garden Street, Suite 210).
Also, a reminder that streets throughout Downtown and the city will be closed for the 26.2 mile run. In the Downtown area, “No Parking” signs will be posted and cars will be towed if left on the streets at closure time. For more information on road closures, please visit www.SLOMarathon.com.

Lululemon Athletica will soon “pop up” in Downtown San Luis Obispo. The popular yoga and athletic gear retailer will be opening a pop up store in late April or early May at 770 Higuera Street. A pop up store is a smaller, cozier version of their retail store that “pops up” for a few months.
Lululemon Athletica says, “We are thrilled to open several pop up stores this spring throughout North America. We can’t wait to share our culture of sweating and goal coaching in your community.”
