Meet Our Spring Interns

Written by Mukta Naran on . Posted in Home Page Category

The SLO Downtown Association welcomes our Spring 2016 interns Julia Tettamanzi, Chase Campanelli and Annabel Snow. They are all Cal Poly students and as interns this quarter, they will gain experience from our organization by working on projects with our Downtown SLO Farmers’ Market, Fresh Picked Concert Series, Mother’s Day Flower Giveaway, Downtown Brown’s Birthday Bash, Concerts in the Plaza and much, much more!

Julia_Spring_16First, meet Julia Tettamanzi.  She is a Cal Poly fourth year studying journalism with a concentration in public relations and minors in Integrated Marketing Communications and Spanish Language and Literature. Being from Marin County, Julia has developed a passion for the great outdoors and living a wholesome and ecofriendly lifestyle. In the past, Julia has lived in Ecuador, Italy and Spain. Her most recent adventure was studying abroad in Madrid, Spain where she enjoyed exploring the city streets and discovering new tapas bars.  Being an intern at the Downtown Association, Julia is looking forward to further developing her skills in both public relations and marketing. When she graduates in June, Julia hopes to continue traveling and acquire a job at a public relations agency.

Chase_Spring_2016Next, meet Chase Campanelli.  He is in his final quarter at Cal Poly and is completing his B.S. in Recreation, Parks, Tourism and Administration with concentrations in Sports Management and Event Planning. He grew up in Laguna Niguel, which is located in beautiful Southern California. Since he was a young boy his family has always had a special love for San Luis Obispo because his parents met here and of course, the beautiful weather. He transferred from Saddleback College and Irvine Valley College in order to learn more about the San Luis Obispo community.  His interest in the community landed him an internship with our organization.  He wanted to gain experience with event planning so he can create future concert events and help the community improve entertainment.  He hopes to create big concerts or work with a professional sports team on game day events one day. Chase also enjoys playing basketball, going to different sporting events, working out, traveling to new areas, going to concerts, entertaining and planning events with friends and family.

Annabel_Spring_2016We are also lucky to have Annabel Snow intern with us this quarter.  Annabel is a fourth year journalism major with a concentration in public relations. She studied abroad in Florence, Italy in the fall of 2014, hoping to explore her Italian roots and travel all over Europe. Originally from Palo Alto, California, Annabel enjoys hiking and being active, and hopes to end up in the San Francisco area post-graduation. Throughout her time at Cal Poly she has become passionate about writing and graphic design and hopes to apply these skills in a future career in public relations. Though Annabel is sad to leave San Luis Obispo and Cal Poly this upcoming June, she looks forward to working with the Downtown Association in order to gain more hands on experience in public relations.
