Downtown SLO is proud to bring holiday events to the Downtown community, like our annual Holiday Parade, Window Decorating Contest, and more. Here’s a rundown of events happening this season:
HOLIDAY WINDOW DECORATING CONTEST | Which Downtown storefront window has the best seasonal window display? Take a stroll through Downtown with this map and then cast your vote for your favorite! Voting is open until December 15. Cast your vote HERE.
SANTA’S HOUSE | Come visit Santa in Mission Plaza at Santa’s House until December 24. Hours vary; please check here for the full schedule. Children who visit Santa receive a complimentary activity book, toy, and candy cane. Pictures are also available for purchase. CLASSIC CAROUSEL | Come visit our Classic Carousel in Mission Plaza until December 26! Carousel rides are $3 each or families can purchase a package of 5 rides for $10. HOLIDAY TREE | Come see the Holiday Tree in Mission Plaza from November 27 through December. The tree will be ceremonially lit on Monday, November 27 at 5:00 PM. Enjoy caroling, hot chocolate, and the holiday spirit in the heart of Downtown. Thank you to Cal Poly Interfraternity Council (IFC) for their sponsorship.
42ND ANNUAL HOLIDAY PARADE | Downtown SLO and Wells Fargo invite you to the 42nd Annual Holiday Parade on Friday, December 1st at 7 PM. Bob Douglass, the former owner of SLO Luggage, will serve as the Parade Marshal. The parade route is nine blocks long starting on Chorro at Palm and ending on Higuera at Nipomo. The parade is the largest on the Central Coast and attracts upwards of 10,000 spectators. Parade entries will be competing for Best in Theme, Most Creative, and Most Entertaining. Ten parade announcers will be stationed along the nine-block parade route ensuring every spectator has a front row seat. This event is free, family-friendly, and open to the public.
