Donna Lewis

Guaranteed Rate Mortgage, Downtown Resident

I’ve been in the Mortgage Business in San Luis Obispo for 25+ years and continue to love what I do. I am especially fortunate to live and work in Downtown San Luis Obispo and LOVE this community! I’ve also enjoyed volunteering in a variety of capacities including having served on the SLO Chamber Board of Directors, as well as having served as Past President of the Rotary Club of San Luis Obispo de Tolosa. Additionally I am the incoming Chair of the Board for the SLO Food Bank. My husband Kevin and I have had the pleasure of raising 3 amazing young women who have all fled San Luis Obispo and we hope will one day return. It would be my honor to serve the Downtown Association to help shape the future of San Luis Obispo’s crown jewel, encouraging an environment that balances the interest of the business community with the needs of its residents.

David’s expertise includes management, guest experience enhancement, and monitoring, daily operations, auditing, financial analysis, and project development. David has established a track record of operational excellence.

*Scott Smith

Central Coast Surfboards

Scott Smith has lived in San Luis Obispo since 1991 and owned Art’s Cyclery for 16 years prior to the company being purchased by Sports Warehouse in 2017. A former professional triathlete, Scott is passionate about retail, sports, and enjoying the incredible outdoor activities that San Luis Obispo has to offer. Scott took the helm of Central Coast Surfboards, itself an iconic storefront housed in a hundred-year old building on Marsh Street, in August of 2017. Though the gear itself has changed- switching from cycling equipment to a surf shop- Scott maintains that “retail is retail”, but perhaps the greatest challenge has been the move from a destination shop housed in a warehouse to the flux and fluidity of Downtown storefront retail. In this sense, Scott feels his greatest contribution to the Board of Downtown SLO is his retail-heavy background. Scott is interested in working on parking initiatives and advocating for sustainable rents, as well as recruiting the local community that may perceive Downtown as too complicated and too touristy to visit.
