Downtown SLO Farmers’ Market Is Growing

chorro_expansionThursdays at Downtown SLO Farmers’ Market

Location: Chorro Street

Downtown SLO Farmers’ Market is expanding the produce section of The Market! Look for the “Fresh Harvest” section on Chorro Street from June through September.  The San Luis Obispo Downtown Association, in collaboration with SLO County Farmers’ Market Association, is excited to offer visitors a more enhanced shopping experience with the addition of a wide variety of new local farmers to The Market. This exciting expansion was made possible through months of planning and support from Heritage Oaks Bank.

The newly arriving farmers will be selling eggs, cheese, raw and prepared meats, seafood and grains as well as other products.  Some of the highlights include local beef brought in from our very own Hearst Ranch who will be offering up free barbecued samples and cooking demos.   There will be entertainment located at the end of Chorro Street to keep the ambiance that we all love so much at The Market.  Palazzo Giuseppe will be moving from Osos Street and will now be serving their brick oven-fired pizzas at the Chorro Street expansion.  Starting in July you can expect to see even more growth on the expansion with an assortment of locally grown mushrooms (see below or click here for a list of our new farmers).
