Tucked in next to the Granada Hotel and Bistro, Nourish is open at 1126 Morro Street. Aptly named, this healthy eatery serves fresh, exciting food that feeds both the stomach and the soul. Whether you are paleo, vegetarian, gluten free, diary free, or have no preference, Nourish offers a variety of breakfast and lunch options aimed to fuel your day. Their breakfast menu features staples like gluten free baked oatmeal and more trendy dishes like cherry chia seed pudding or green eggs and grains bowl. The lunch menu offers more hearty items such as the Moroccan eggs (lightly pickled hard-boiled eggs, dukkah, spices) or romaine boats (romaine leaf stuffed with citrus cashew spread, mango, avocado, cabbage, carrots). However, largely inspired by the season and local farmers’ markets, a majority of their menu changes daily. Some ever-changing dishes include a daily meat carvery, daily toast, farmers’ market soup, and seasonal frittata. (You can check their Instagram story for daily food updates.) The bulk of their food is available as grab-and-go, intended to provide a satisfying meal that fits into a fast-paced lifestyle. If you’re really in a hurry, you can pre-order your food on their website through ChowNow. However, it could do one well to sit inside the tranquil space, surrounded by colorful art, fun wallpaper, and gorgeous greenery. Patrons of Nourish are also welcome to enjoy their meal outside on the adjacent Granada Patio. The soul of it all comes from the head chef, Roxanne Lapuyade, former owner of Roxanne’s Café. A firm believer in the power of vegetables, she cooks for the community as she would cook for herself. For delicious food that makes you feel great, visit Nourish Monday through Friday from 7am-3pm.
