August 13 | Brass Mash | Hard Pop Brass Band
Sponsored by Park 1039
Brass Mash performs all your favorite tunes mashed into an energetic and infectious groove. With powerhouse instrumentals and a tight sound. The band consists entirely of horns, winds, and percussion to play a variety of music styles, creating the sound of
everyone’s favorite party rock band with an authentic live stage presence. Known to bring any crowd to its feet, the Brass Mash style blends or "mashes" two or more songs at a time. These compositions cross both genres and decades, creating a live guessing game for audiences to 'name that tune'. Britney Spears and Black Sabbath? Check. Lorde and Dr. Dre? Got that too.
2019 was the biggest year yet for Brass Mash. In addition to performing a both the Live Oak and Whalerock Music Festivals, they released their first album Hard Brass as a video album on Youtube, Facebook, and IGTV. Hard Brass is comprised on eight full music videos in different scenes ranging from a raucous pool party, to bike shop shenanigans, to in studio performances. In 2019, the band also added a singer, Hilary Watson. Watson has brought a new element to the band that has gotten rave reviews from everyone who has heard it.
“Brass Mash stands out as one of the most entertaining groups on the central coast. While you will marvel at the intricate playing and ingenious arrangements, I go because this group simply rocks. They are an all-instrumental band it falls on the audience to sing along, and
they always do. I don't care what genre you claim is your favorite, at the end of the night you will be singing and dancing along to every song.” – Mark Robertshaw
“When my fiancé and I decided to throw a wedding reception we knew we needed a crowd pleaser to keep the dancing going. From the moment Brash Mash hit the first note, the dancing didn't stop! Our guests still tell us that Brash Mash made it the best wedding love fest party ever.” – Bekah Alexander
