About Carbon City Lights
Genre: Alternative Rock
Carbon City Lights is an indie folk-rock band based in San Luis Obispo, CA. Lead singer Michael Venia was a contestant on Season 21 of NBC’s hit show, The Voice. Listeners appreciate the authenticity of Venia’s thoughtful lyrics about life, loss, and love, as well as his powerful vocals. Live performances are energetic and dynamic, featuring alt-rock jams with rocking cello and moving ballads.

About Cate Armstrong
Genre: Folk / singer songwriter
Cate Armstrong landed on the Central Coast as a Cal Poly Sociology student in 2018 and has been finding herself through years of singing and songwriting, learning to use music as a medium to feel and heal. She has enjoyed connecting with the local SLO community as a TMHA (Transitions Mental Health Association) support group facilitator, Poly Rep, Camp Natoma counselor, Feminine Collective member, and dedicated local concert and festival goer. Inspired by Maggie Rogers, Joni Mitchell, Lizzy McAlpine, and Adrianne Lenker, Cate writes and performs straight from the heart, welcoming audience members of all ages into the highs and lows of her twenty-something-year-old lived experience.
