Growing Grounds Downtown is both a retail store for top quality plants and gifts, as well as a supported employment program of Transitions-Mental Health Association. The non-profit store provides work opportunities and vocational training for clients, particularly those developing experience in retail and customer service.

You'll find a wide selection of easy-to-care-for and rare, hard-to-find houseplants. Veggie starts are available year-round as well as drought-tolerant outdoor plants. The veggie starts and outdoor plants are grown at Growing Grounds nurseries in San Luis Obispo and Santa Maria.

The store also carries organic seeds, plant care essentials, glazed and terra cotta pottery, air plants, and fair-trade and locally-made gift items.
