Vegan Dining in Downtown San Luis Obispo

Category Blog

From bold global flavors to sweet treats and satisfying smoothies, here are some of our favorite vegan-friendly spots in downtown San Luis Obispo.

Tahini cauliflower tacos // Luna Red

Luna Red

Craving a good taco? Luna Red delivers with their tahini cauliflower tacos — flavorful, crunchy, and satisfying. While you wait, snack on some house-made baba ganoush and sip on one of their tasty cocktails or mocktails. Enjoy outdoor dining on their patio, or pick a cozy spot indoors.

Ebony Ethiopian Restaurant

Tucked along the creek, Ebony Ethiopian offers a vibrant and fully vegan (and gluten-free!) dining experience. Their soft, house-made injera is the perfect base for dishes like the spicy misir wot, made with slow-simmered red lentils, caramelized onions, garlic, ginger, and a rich blend of Ethiopian spices.

Linnaea’s

This beloved local café is a go-to for vegan bites and cozy vibes. Try the pesto pasta salad made with lemony house pesto, pepitas, and sundried tomatoes (just ask for no cotija cheese). Their buffalo chickpea wrap is also a hit, and don’t leave without a slice of their decadent vegan chocolate cake.

Jamba

Swing by for a smoothie (plenty of dairy-free options available), an acai bowl (just sub agave for honey), or one of their vegan apple cinnamon pretzels. They’ve even added a new “over ice” drink menu for a refreshing twist.

Libertine Coffee Bar

Start your day with a hearty vegan breakfast burrito from Libertine. You can choose between a black bean patty or soyrizo, all wrapped up with tater tots, vegan cheese, sautéed peppers and onions, guac, and pico de gallo in a spinach tortilla.
