Concerts in the Plaza Returns to Downtown in 2021 for 25th Anniversary Season

CONCERTS IN THE PLAZA RETURNS IN 2021 FOR 25th ANNIVERSARY SEASON 

Eight Weeks of Free Live Music in Mission Plaza Starts August 6

May 28, 2021, San Luis Obispo, CA — Downtown SLO, with the support of headline sponsor Sunset Honda, are proud to announce the return of Concerts in the Plaza in 2021.
The popular summer series will include eight free Friday concerts, each featuring a different band. Concerts will be held every Friday from August 6 – September 24 from 5:00 – 8:00 PM at Mission Plaza in Downtown San Luis Obispo. All concerts are free to the public.

The 2021 lineup is:

August 6 | Damon Castillo Band | Rock N Soul

August 13 | Brass Mash | Hard Pop Brass Band

August 20 | Bear Market Riot | Power-Folk Americana

August 27 | The Kicks | Roots Reggae

September 3 | The Tipsy Gypsies | Retro Pop, Jazz, & Blues

September 10 | Truth About Seafood | Party Rock

 September 17 | Resination | Roots, Rock, Reggae

September 24 | Dante Marsh & The Vibesetters | Soul Funk

2021 marks the 25th anniversary season of the popular Central Coast concert series. We are thrilled to bring back this beloved community event which includes music, dancing, and community in the heart of Downtown: Mission Plaza. Concerts in the Plaza is the perfect way to end the week, or the perfect beginning to a fun-filled weekend in San Luis Obispo.

Local artist Colleen Gnos created an original work of art to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Concerts in the Plaza season, which features painted depictions of local musicians who have performed around the County. View the art and other assets in the online media kit.

To support the series, Downtown SLO is seeking sponsorship from businesses and individuals. Committed sponsors for the 2021 series include Sunset Honda (title sponsor), Pacific Western Bank, the San Luis Obispo Collection, American Riviera Bank, Megan’s Organic Market, Firestone Walker Brewing Company, Chamisal Vineyards, Jean Marie Cidery, Splash Cafe, and SLO Credit Union.
