LeBren Harris will helm the organization transitioning through the month of January

San Luis Obispo, CA — Downtown SLO is pleased to announce that LeBren Harris, who has served as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors for the SLO Chamber of Commerce, as well as Area Director of Sales for Quorum Hotels & Resorts, has been hired as the new CEO. Harris will begin leading the organization on Tuesday, January 16, 2024.

ABOUT LEBREN HARRIS

LeBren Harris is a dedicated and accomplished professional who has been an integral part of the community since 2001. Her journey began as a student-athlete at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, where she excelled in track and field, earning a coveted scholarship. LeBren's prowess in the 400m hurdles led to her becoming a two-time Big West Champion and securing the title of the current school record holder in the same event.

In 2004, LeBren proudly earned her Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology from Cal Poly, and her commitment to education continued at Cleveland State University, where she obtained a Master's Degree in Sport Management in 2006.

Returning to San Luis Obispo in the summer of 2006, LeBren embarked on a successful career in hospitality, initially as a front desk agent at the Embassy Suites San Luis Obispo. She achieved several promotions through dedication and hard work, ultimately attaining the position of Director of Catering.

In 2014, LeBren embraced a new challenge, accepting the role of Director of Sales at the Hampton Inn and Suites San Luis Obispo. Her stellar performance led to further recognition, with a subsequent promotion to Dual Director of Sales, overseeing the TownePlace Suites by Marriott. This role marked a career milestone and opened avenues for active involvement in the City of San Luis Obispo.

LeBren's commitment to community service is evident through her participation on the Board of Directors for various organizations, including the Tourism Improvement District (TBID), Cal Poly Stampede Club, Mission College Prep High School Board of Regents, Central Coast Economic Forecast, and the San Luis Obispo Chamber of Commerce.

Most recently serving as the Area Director of Sales for Quorum Hotel and Resorts, LeBren oversaw sales efforts for the Inn At The Pier in Pismo Beach and Hotel Virginia in Santa Barbara. Her leadership and strategic vision contributed significantly to the success of these establishments.

Beyond her professional achievements, LeBren finds fulfillment in her role as a wife to San Luis Obispo native Terrance Harris for over 15 years. Together, they share the joy of raising three beautiful daughters - Jolee (11), Mikayla (11), and Alicia (6).

“I am absolutely thrilled and deeply honored to step into the role of CEO. The prospect of leading and inspiring a team united in our commitment to serve and uplift our community fills me with boundless excitement,” says Harris.

As CEO of Downtown SLO, LeBren will continue to advocate for downtown vitality and oversee the organization’s highly visible events, including the weekly Thursday Night Farmers’ Market, Concerts in the Plaza, the Annual Holiday Parade, and more.

“We are thrilled to have LeBren join Downtown SLO to lead our amazing team,” says Donna Lewis, Downtown SLO Board President. “We are looking forward to her fresh perspective and the enthusiasm she brings to all she does in our community.”
