The death of loved ones has always been a difficult subject throughout history. During the Victorian period, however, it took on new significance. During this era, is when extravagant mourning traditions developed and soon made their way across the Atlantic Ocean to the United States.

The volunteer Jack House docents will have Victorian era mourning items from the History Center on site for guests to see!
