Locals Invited to Shop and Explore Downtown SLO at Sidewalk Sale on March 29
The second of Downtown SLO’s new series of Sidewalk Sales celebrates the opening of the Cultural Arts District Parking Garage.
Downtown SLO is excited to invite the community to a Sidewalk Sale, sponsored by Pure Green, on Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 11 AM–4 PM. Over 25 businesses will bring merchandise and sales displays onto the sidewalk for this one-day-only event. Shoppers can expect to find discounts on clothing, accessories, home decor, collectibles, and more. Free Parking in the new Cultural Arts District Parking Garage
Thanks to the City of San Luis Obispo, shoppers can enjoy free all-day parking in the brand-new Cultural Arts District Parking Structure. The new parking garage at Nipomo and Palm Streets opens March 17, with no-cost parking available during its first 28 days of operation (March 17–April 13, 2026). The new garage offers nearly 400 parking spaces, 14 EV charging stations, and 14 secure bike lockers, providing convenient access to downtown and the Cultural Arts District.
Parking will also be available in the other three public parking garages downtown, with an hourly rate of $2/hour and a daily max of $8.
Passport Challenge
Shoppers can partake in a digital passport challenge for a chance to win gift cards to downtown businesses! For every five points earned by visiting participating businesses, shoppers will be entered into a drawing to receive gift cards to local businesses! Multiple winners will be chosen, and registration to participate is open now.
